Social Security and Medicare

Eric believes that Social Security and Medicare are promises the United States has made to seniors that must be honored.  These programs form the backbone of retirement security and healthcare for millions of seniors who worked hard, paid into the system, and earned the benefits they were promised.  Eric strongly opposes any effort to cut benefits or raise the retirement age.  Instead, he will work to strengthen and defend these programs for both current retirees and future generations, without burdening working families or those nearing retirement.

Eric supports bipartisan solutions to ensure the long-term solvency of Social Security and Medicare, including rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse in the system and ensuring that Washington stops raiding these programs to fund wasteful spending.
